LUMINA SCORES BIG WITH AMERICAN FAMILIES
The largest sedan in the Chevrolet family, Lumina has made its mark with American families by offering more standard safety features for the price than any other six-passenger vehicle in its class. As a result, Lumina finished the 1996 calendar year with its best sales in history and became one of the top nameplates in the passenger car industry for total U.S. sales. For 1998, Lumina continues to give its owners a lot less to worry about with several new and innovative features. For security - and a whole lot more - Lumina offers the optional OnStar system. OnStar combines the vehicle's cellular phone (provided in the OnStar Package) with Global Positioning System (GPS) satellite technology and a 24-hour QnStar Center. For increased safety, the system automatically notifies the OnStar Center whenever the vehicle's air bags deploy so emergency services can be dispatched to the vehicle. If the vehicle is stolen, OnStar can track it and notify authorities of its location for quick recovery. OnStar advisors can also access the center's database to find such things as a nearby ATM, hotel or restaurant. The OnStar Center can even precisely pinpoint the vehicle's location and provide routing support when needed. And, for the ultimate in "remote control " OnStar can unlock the power door locks if the keys are left inside - all with just a phone call.

· A glossy, water-based highlighting solution is applied to all exterior surfaces to reveal any imperfections before the body is painted.
· A total immersion phosphote electrode position (ELPO) process applies the first layer of primer/ paint. Electric voltage is applied to the bodies while submerged in the paint bath to ensure complete coverage, even in hard-to-reach areas.

The sedan market is growing fast - very fast. It's risen in volume 19 percent over the last five years and shows no sign of letting up. Since the midsize sedan market is the largest and the toughest in the industry, everyone needs an entry that can go head to head with a very formidable crowd. For Chevrolet, that entry is Lumina. our largest sedan and one of the best selling sedans in America - and deservingly so. Lumina provides ample six-passenger space at a price that's tough to beat. Plus, no six-passenger car in its class offers as many standard safety features for the money. The Lumina standard safety package includes Daytime Running Lamps with Automatic Exterior Lamp Control, anti-lock brakes (on LS and LTZ models), dual air bags and a child-protection package, giving owners a lot less to worry about. Lumina loads on other standard features that are usually found an much more expensive vehicles - features like air conditioning, power door locks, automatic transmission, theatre lighting and theft deterrent system.

DESIGN AND MANUFACTURING - Buy The Lumina Here
Prior to the introduction of the new body style in the 1995 model year, Lumina and its coupe counterpart, Monte Carlo, had the most extensive pre-launch research conducted for new Chevrolet models up to that time. And, the Lumina design was driven by feedback from that research. For instance, through a host of customer clinics, more than 2,000 people provided input in focus groups regarding their concerns about safety, comfort and convenience, styling, price and value. Chevrolet dealers also had a hand in the design process. In fact,120 changes were made to the original design due to input from dealer advisory groups and customers. As a result, Lumina is designed, inside and out, to meet the needs of midsize sedan buyers. And, that design is carried through the manufacturing process at the General Motors assembly plant in Oshawa, Ontario, Canada.
